Preschool Indoor Playground

The first time I walked into the Metro Vineyard's Preschool Indoor Playground in Sackville I remember releasing an audible sigh. FINALLY. An indoor play space that is designed for, no, better yet, RESTRICTED to, the 5 and under group. All of the toys and the, count 'em, twelve climbing structures are chosen for small children and include a plane (see above), a camper van (photo at the bottom of the post) and a castle.

It's clean with charming murals all over the walls. There are bathrooms with changing tables and stools to reach the sink, and a separate snack area with little tables and chairs. Plus no big kids running around knocking little ones over or monopolizing the equipment because school age kids aren't allowed.

I've been there many times and I'm sure every time I've been there I've heard another parent arrive and breathe out that same sigh of relief. A place for their busy toddler to just run, climb, and explore that is safe; and even a dedicated baby area with bouncers and soft toys.

When I had a newborn and a 2 year old I practically lived here. Even now with a 4 and 2 year old it's a favourite spot to head to when we need to burn off some energy and have a great time.

It's operated out of the Halifax Metro Vineyard Christian Fellowship at 1129 Sackville Drive in Middle Sackville. It's open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and it's $2.50/child (cash only), and you will need indoor shoes.

September 19, 2017 is their planned opening date for this year.

There is plenty of free parking - you zip around to the back of the building and go in through the basement door - and there's even a restaurant upstairs so you can stick around for lunch when you're done playing if you choose.

They also rent out the space for birthday parties. We've been to one there and the kids had a blast! They're closed during the summer (though they keep some equipment outside during the warmer months, right by their real ice cream shop, those clever people).

*I received no special benefits to write this post; I just really love their spot and think you will too.

Have you been here before? What did you think of it?
